The Friday Times is a Pakistani English-language independent newsweekly, based in Lahore, Pakistan. It was first published on 25 May, 1989.
TFT’s editorial policy is independent as demonstrated by the national and international standing of the newspaper. TFT’s founder-editor, Najam Sethi, and publisher Jugnu Mohsin, are recipients of international awards conferred by Amnesty International and the Committee to Protect Journalists. TFT is the most highly quoted Pakistani paper in the international press.
Editorially, TFT holds the view that Pakistan was conceived by the Founding Fathers to be a liberal, modern Muslim state where free thought and free enterprise go hand in hand. TFT opposes obscurantism and dogmatic thinking and stands for the democratic rights of all citizens, regardless of creed or gender.
